COSMETOLOGY/1, COSMETOLOGY/2 & COSMETOLOGY 3
(Approved for Veterans)

These courses meet the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology (CSBBC) 1600 hour training requirement. It provides students with technical instruction and practical experience to develop the skills needed to take and pass the Cosmetology Licensing Exam. Students will learn disinfection, hairstyling, hair cutting, chemical texturing, hair coloring, nail care and skin care procedures.
Prereqiustes: Employment level competency in written and oral communication in English. 10.0 reading level (see test schedule here). Applicants passing the entrance exam will be given registration information for the upcoming class.
Completion Requirements: Students must complete 1600 hours and demonstrate knowledge and proficiency.
Cost: Approximate total cost for the program is $1300 (registration, books, and supplies).

ESTHETICIAN/1, ESTHETICIAN/2 & ESTHETICIAN/3
These courses meet the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology (CSBBC) 600 hour training requirement. It provides students with technical instruction and practical experience to develop the skills needed to take and pass the Esthetician Licensing Exam. Students will learn skin care procedures such as facials (plain, electric, and chemical), eyebrow shaping with tweezers and wax, daytime, evening, and corrective make up techniques.
Prereqiustes: Employment level competency in written and oral communication in English. 10.0 reading level (see test schedule here). Applicants passing the reading test will be given registration information for the upcoming class.
Completion Requirements: Students must complete 600 hours and demonstrate knowledge & proficiency.
Cost: Approximate total cost for the program is $900 (registration, books, and supplies).
Note: Next class begins September 2012.



MANICURING/1 & MANICURING/2
These courses meet the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology (CSBBC) 400 hour training requirement. It provides students with technical instruction and practical experience to develop the skills needed to take and pass the Manicuring Licensing Exam. Students will learn manicuring, pedicuring, nail tips, wraps, and acrylic application techniques.
Prereqiustes: Employment level competency in written and oral communication in English. 8.0 reading level (see test schedule here). Applicants passing the reading test will be given registration information for the upcoming class.
Completion Requirements: Students must complete 400 hours and demonstrate knowledge and proficiency.
Cost: Approximate total cost for the program is $600 (registration, books, and supplies).
