Electrician

Overview

There are two (2) competency-based courses for Electrician described below.  Students receive technical instruction and practical experience in workplace safety, fundamental electrical concepts, trade mathematics, storage batteries in direct current (DC) circuits, alternating current (AC), Ohm’s Law, and resource management.

Program Prerequisites:

ELECTRICIAN 1: Fundamentals

Course Prerequisites:  See "Electrician Program Prerequisites" (above)
 
Course Details:
This is the first course in a two-course sequence which provides students with technical instruction and practical experience in workplace safety, fundamental electrical concepts, trade mathematics, storage batteries in direct current (DC) circuits, alternating current (AC), Ohm’s Law, and resource management. 

ELECTRICIAN 2: Wiring & Codes

Course Prerequisites:  See "Electrician Program Prerequisites" (above)
 
Course Details:
This is the second course in a two-course sequence which provides students with technical instruction and practical experience in workplace safety, electrical wiring and code, trade mathematics

NOTES:

  • Separate costs for books, exams, supplies, preparation, certifications and/or licenses provided by outside vendors may be incured.
  • Once a Certificate of Completion is earned in a course, that course cannot be repeated.
