We acknowledge that WVOC and its campuses are located on the traditional lands of the Gabrielino/Tongva peoples, who trace their ancestry through the Los Angeles basin and the four Southern Channel Islands. WVOC acknowledges the Gabrielino/Tongva peoples as the traditional caretakers of Tovaangar and, remembering their connection to this region, we give thanks for the opportunity to live, work, and learn on their traditional homeland. In their footsteps, we carry forward their tradition of coming together to grow as a community. We pay our respects to the Honuukvetam (Ancestors), ‘Ahiihirom (Elders) and ‘Eyoohiinkem (relatives/relations) past, present, and emerging.
